This palette is definitely a value for money since it is very inexpensive and also gives you full sized eyeliner with it. Overall, a fantastic palette and the fact that it is all matte shades makes a perfect supplement palette to all you other eye shadows in your collection but these shades can most definitely be used on their own too to create diverse looks. They do not crease nor do they cause a lot of fall out. The longevity is improved with a use of primer. The eyeshadows stay on for 6-7 hours before I notice some fading. The shade is so beautiful and such a unique deep grey and it complement the looks created with this palette. But other than that the liner itself is creamy and glides on smooth even on the waterline. Sometime no matter how much I twist the product does not come out and once your pull up too much it does not go back.
The problem I have with it is that the retractable mechanism is not the best. The smudge stick provided is retractable hence no hassle of sharpening. These shades can also be used wet but I have never used that that way as I am happy with the intensity these shadows give even when used dry. These shades work great on their own even without primer but with primer underneath it really makes all the shades especially the lighter ones pop. Also works great to smoke out eye liner and used on lower lash line Ebony – matte black-Can be used paired with Smoke to create Grey-black smoky eye looks.Smoke – matte charcoal grey- Can be used paired with Ebony to create Grey-black smoky eye looks.Rain-matte light taupe brown- A beautiful crease shade to implement with any eye looks.I reach for this shade every time I use this palette. It gives such beautiful warmth to the eyes and really complements my eye color. Fire – matte brick- My most favorite shade in the palette.Driftwood – mid tone brown – A great crease shade and also wonderful to use on the outer V for natural day looks.Adjust the Radius slider until you achieve the amount of blur you're looking for. Keep an eye on the preview area on the left as you drag the slider so you can see what's happening. Simply drag the Radius slider to the right to increase the amount of blurring that's applied to the image. The Radius option works exactly the same here as it does in the Gaussian Blur filter. To do that, simply click inside the checkbox to the left of the word Invert.
In my case, this means the woman's face will remain in focus while everything else becomes blurred. Of course, as we just pointed out, we need to tell Photoshop to invert our depth map so that the area we selected is the area that remains in focus.

For the Depth Map, make sure that Alpha 1 is selected so Photoshop uses the selection we made to determine how to blur the image. You can safely ignore every option except for two of them - the Depth Map option that we just talked about a moment ago and the Radius option. This brings up the Lens Blur dialog box, which consists of a large preview area on the left and a bunch of potentially confusing options along the right. Go up to the Filter menu at the top of the screen, choose Blur, and then choose Lens Blur: We're going to create our depth of field effect at this point, and we're going to do it using Photoshop's Lens Blur filter. Now that we're back in the Layers palette, make sure you have "Layer 1" selected (the currently selected layer is highlighted in blue). Switch back over to your Layers palette to continue. We'll need to tell Photoshop to invert our depth map in the Lens Blur filter's dialog box, and we'll see how to do that in a moment. The black area is where we want to apply the blurring!" You're absolutely correct.
If you were paying attention there, you may be thinking "Wait a minute, isn't that exactly the opposite of what we want? You said black areas remain in focus while white areas are blurred out, but in the alpha channel we just created, it's the white area that we want to keep in focus, not the black area. Areas that fall between pure black and pure white, such as the transition area around the selection edges, will be blurred to a lesser degree depending on how light or dark they are. Any areas in the depth map that are pure black remain 100% in focus while areas that are pure white are completely blurred out. A depth map is simply a grayscale (black and white) image that Photoshop uses with the Lens Blur filter to decide which parts of the image to blur out and by how much. This is important because in a moment, we're going to be using this black and white alpha channel we've created as a depth map for the Lens Blur filter. The saved selection becomes a new "Alpha channel" in Photoshop's Channels palette.
